Hello users, earlier when MRP based cvd was in pracice then Importers had too declare the mrp in Bill of entry as well as on the packages in case of prepacked commodities imported.
But now since the IGST is in practice, there are no MRP based cvd calculated, but still in trade its heard that the MRP must be declared on goods/packages as per customs. if this true than on what basis ? and is there any public notice or notification in this regard? because the checking of mrp declration on packages are comes under The Legal Metrology officer as per the LMPC rule 2011 when the goods out from their warehouse.
Also if its must be declared, as per notification then what is the crietaria for calculation of MRP ? how much it should be from purchase cost? becuase the sea freight are changing every week and transport cost from Nhava sheva to pune are different to transport to Busawal. their are shipping detention and ground rent some times, damge of some goods too.
How can any one decide the MRP on goods till its not received in their warehouse ?
A proper notification must be needed by CBIC/Ministry in this regard for ease of doing Business by importers and avoid custom queries. as per present scenario
If any one have, please share.
