Hello every one, It has been heared from trade and users that under the faceless assessment some times there are unnecessary queries are raised and asked for documents which has been already submitted by custom broker in system,
Even some times multiple queries which cause more delays in assessment.
i would like to suggest here that why not Government do this, like when custom broker give reply for any query then the subject Bill of entry or shipping bill can be marked to another port/and another officer for checking the reply and needful action/ assessment ? and this process can be same if the 2nd officer raise query again.
i hope this will defenetly redused the nos of queries in assessment
if you like this suggestion please share it max to reach to higher authorities and give your feedback and more suggestions in answer box

What is an advance ruling?
“Advance Ruling” means a written decision on any of the questions relating to classification of goods, applicability of notifications having a bearing on the rate of duty, and other similar notifications, principles to be adopted for the purposes of valuation of the goods, or determination of country of origin raised by the applicant in his application in respect of any goods prior to its importation or exportation.
Who can seek advance ruling?
Any person:
(a) holding a valid Importer-exporter Code Number granted under section 7 of the Foreign Trade (Development and Regulation) Act, 1992; or
(b) exporting any goods to India; or
(c) with a justifiable cause to the satisfaction of the authority.

Dear all, there are several queries and doubts has been seen regarding the custom duty on Gift items and personal import by any individuals in India.
We have attached here public notice copy issued by the office of the commissioner of custom, ciurier cell, andheri , Mumbi, India.
As per that public notice every goods imported by an individual in India for personal use, where transaction is involved attract custom duty is 42.08 % including the IGST
And every GIFT item where the each shipment cost should not be more than 10000/- INR where no transaction/payment is involved by receiver attarct custom duty is 77.28 % including IGST

Yes, the bis registration is mandatory for manufacturer. and they must put the bis registration no and mark as per rule by the bis department on goods while manufacturing them
