Also known as puntotagliato in Italian, cut work is a form of needlework technique where an embroidery design is made on a linen or cotton cloth with two main stitches:the running or buttonhole stitch. After making the embroiderythe parts within the embroidery are cut away to create holes and showing this way the elaborate designs. Cutwork curtains such as the ones available at Naxos Art, are a fine example of cutwork artistry.
