Trading of commercially important fish, NFDB is implementing a Fish Market Price Information System (FMPIS) for collecting price details of different commercially important fish species from different fish markets.
As per the information provided by The Minister of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry and Dairying, National Fisheries Development Board (NFDB) is implementing a Fish Market Price Information System (FMPIS) for collecting price details of different commercially important fish species from different fish markets to facilitate Trading of commercially important fish.
Based on these details, an analytical report is uploaded on the NFDB website on a weekly basis. This aims at promoting trading of commercially important fish species.
FMPIS is trying to facilitate better marketability for fisher/seller and accessibility to consumer/buyer.
The above initiatives taken by government will help in Indian Marine Products Export to worldwide, in India, the Marine Products Export Development Authority (MPEDA) monitors and help to develop export-oriented aquaculture farms in the country to ensure their traceability and quality control.
